Stock Brokers To Display Investor Awareness Message(s) on Their Trading Apps & Websites

BACKGROUND:

SEBI via its Circular dated 01 October 2026, has decided to introduce display of
investor-centric messages by stock brokers as a part of Project Jagrook, for the benefit, safety, and education of investors.

INVESTOR AWARENESS MESSAGE:

NSE and BSE via their Circulars dated 5 October 2026 have prescribed the following investor awareness message under Project Jagrook:

SEBI presents Samajh Se Investing Simple:

  • Understand Before You Invest
  • Choose Regulated Investment Products
  • Start Early, Stay Invested
  • Beware of Investment Frauds

 

Note: The investor awareness message under Project Jagrook, may be changed
on a weekly basis. Stock  Brokers will be informed of such updates by the Stock Exchange(s), upon receipt of the same from SEBI.

RISK DISCLOSURE:

The existing risk disclosure prescribed under SEBI circular dated 19th May 2023 is set out below:

  • 9 out of 10 individual traders in equity Futures and Options Segment incurred net losses.
  • On an average, loss makers registered net trading losses close to ₹ 50,000.
  • Over and above the net trading losses incurred, loss makers expended an additional 28% of net trading losses as transaction costs.
  • Those making net trading profits incurred between 15% to 50% of such profits as transaction cost.
